Swimming with whale sharks

1. How adventurous are you? In "Cabo" this is one way to find out, go - "swimming with whale sharks". Cabo Expeditions offers the opportunity to get up-close and personnal, with some of the deeps most gentle - did I say gentle - creatures. This amazing expedition has participants swimming alongside whales that are about 30 feet long, as they glide through the water in search of tiny "plankton and krill" the food they thrive on. The best time to participate in this adventure is in January and Feburary, when the water is warmer and the "plankton is plentiful". Prices for Adults $75, for children 8 - 10 years $100 under 7 are not allowed; and non-swimmers pay $100.

Turtle Conservation

2. Help the Turtle Conservation effort in Mexico. From June thru September vacationeers can take part in an exciting activity - guided by experienced naturalists they can adopt a baby turtle and help release them back into their natural habitat, the ocean. This unique adventure contributes to the preservation and protection of an endangered species; teaches about Turtles and their habitat; and makes visist to the nursery camp to adopt a baby turtle, and get the certificate; then participate in releasing the turtles back into the ocean - from which the adults will once again emerge, to lay their eggs on the beaches where they were hatched. The program is open August thru November, and cost Adults $75.00 and children $45.00 for the 3 hour trip to participate. A visit to http://www.bajaoutback.com/ will give more info.

Todos Santos

3. Todos Santos Pueblo Magico. This coastal Oasis village was founded as a Mission in 1724, and later became a major producer of sugar cane. Located just a short drive from Los Cabos, this is, one of only, 42 Pueblo Magicos in Mexico and the only one in Cabo. This special trip rakes visitors to a special place where they can enjoy the -Cultural Center and Museum; the Church, Theatre, and many historic buildings. There is a "Art Festival" held in Feburary with paintings, photography and art & crafts - inspired by the Sierra Laguna Mountains and the coastal Oasis. A Historic Homes Tour, is also offered during the year, a time when the historic homes are open to the public. Visit www.todossantos.cc to learn more.

A short drive down an arroyo and unto a beach overlooking the Pacific ocean. The camel ride crosses the sandy beach - where views of whales passing offshore, can often be spotted, then arrival at a local Ranch for a traditional Mexican lunch, including hand-made tortillas, beans, and salsa. This days excursion ends with photo ops - as one returns across the Baja desert - with it's breathtaking views and stretches of coastlines, while sampling the local Tequila. Fishing in Cabo

5. World-Class Sports Fishing. Cabo San Lucas started as a sleepy fishing village, and slowly became a world famous resort, but the lure of sports fishing remains, and here in Cabo they know how to do it well. With over 500 fishing vessels and a sea filled with Marlin, swordfish, dorado, wahoo, yellowtail and snapper, it is no wonder that this is known as a "paradise for fishing". In Cabo the "avid fisherman" can go deep-sea fishing to the deepest waters, where the largest fish await; or they can take one of the "fly fishing charters" for the thrill of catching billfish on the fly. The fishing charter boats are equipped with GPS fish finders and all the latest gadgets and amenities to make a successful fishing trip. Be prepared to rise esrly as many of them leave at 6:30am, which is said to give the best hours of fishing. Interested. Visit http://www.cabo-fising.net/ for more fishing info.
