Flip Flops, summers freedom sandals

What's one of the best things about summer shoes, why of course it's the freedom to let it all hang out. The lowly flip-flop is summer's special answer to that. So slim they fit right in a large purse, a back pack, or they can dangle from a string around ones waist, when not being won. They are easy to put on, even the youngest among us needs no help, just slide in your feet, get the partition between your big toe and the others, and you're good to go.

Flip-flops can be worn to the beach, you do not even have to remove them to wade in the ocean, they'll dry real fast, even with out removing them. Feel the sand between your toes, as you wander along the beach, take them off, shake the sand out, put them back on - and continue on your way.

Flip-flops can be bought in a variety of colours, you can co-ordinate them with your outfits. Some are beaded, some are plain, some are made of leather while others are made of rubber. Some are flat while others have raised soles. They are sold in grocery stores, five and dimes, (are they still around), pharmacies, department stores and can be found, even in the more expensive department stores, such as Macy's and Nordstrom. The can cost from $1.00, and depending where you buy them, up to $35.00. But regardless of the price you pay, they all give that "dare to be bare" summer feeling.

Small kids, and older folks love them, as they are easy to get on and off. Teens love them, they can show off the latest nail polish color and their toe rings go well with them. Even men wear them, and love the freedom they get while wearing them.

For those who live, where there are four seasons, they look forward to the summer and the advent of the flip-flops that say - summer is here let the sun shine on my feet.. Those of us who live in a warmer climate have the pleasure of wearing them year-round.

No matter where you are or what you are doing the flip-flop is acceptable foot wear and complies with the signs that say " shoes must be worn, no bare feet". Wear them shopping, to the doctor's office, to a restaurant during the day or dress them up with a bauble or two and wear them to dinner at night. Just paint our nails, put on your flip-flop and head out for a night on the town.
